This is less of a tiny post and more of a teeny post. I only need a moment of your time. It'll be worth it.
There was an idea that was brought up in an English class I'm taking this semester, and I think it was one of the most golden ideas (or theories, or whatever you call those shining, spoken words put together in an aspirational order. I just made up that word), that I've ever run across in a classroom.
Here's what I wrote down: "Putting in images [to whatever you're writing] universal images that everyone knows and can see (for instance, hotel shampoo) can really help readers grasp abstract ideas and personal feelings/experiences."
Take from that what you will. I am still a little overwhelmed with what riches have just been bestowed upon my unworthy little writer's brain. You go write, I'm going to lie down.
